MSc DEGREE PROGRAMME IN STATISTICS
Applicants should have a good (at least a 2.1 ) BSc Honours
Degree in Statistics, or an equivalent qualification with
substantial statistical content and sufficient mathematical
background.A student may be required to pass a qualifying
examination. It is anticipated that some students may require
additional mathematical and/or statistical background courses,in
order to satisfy the pre-requisites for certain specialised
material. Such students may take up to 4 such courses during
the first year of study.
The programme consists of 2 parts. Part I consist of course
work assessment and formal examination, with the course work
component consisting no more than 25% of the overall mark.Part
II of the MSc programme consists of a research dissertation.Weighting
60:40 will be given to parts I and II respectively. The programme
is one and half years full time and 3 years part time.
