Editorial

The First Round of the Zimbabwe Mathematics Olympiad took place in May, withover 2500 people entered, from Forms 4-6. Results are not yet out, but at least 200 people will selected for the final round to be held in October, and (if sponsorship can be found) we may have the pleasure of announcing our Zimbabwe candidates for the Pan African Maths Olympiad in Cape Town in January! Meanwhile- all you potential Mathletes (especially Form 3's for next year!), develop your problem solving muscles on the problems in this issue, including the ZMO First Round questions on page 26. The solutions to these ZMO questions are provided free to Zimaths subscribers.

It is gratifying to be able to large numbers of entrants to past problems and competitions- prizewinners are announced at the back of the magazine. To make our marking easier, please send in your solutions to different problems on different pieces of paper, with name and address on each.
